After many years as a Registered Nurse (RN), Regina knew she was ready for a change. She also knew she wanted to continue to help others in her new role. Regina enrolled in the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment while still working as an RN.
And then Covid struck; Regina’s studies were placed on hold. A year later and determined to finish her TAE, Regina enrolled with Healthy Business Training Academy to complete her studies. Regina credits her trainer with helping her overcome the obstacles she faced.
“With Covid there were many ‘stop and starts’ which didn’t encourage ongoing momentum. Each time, Douwlene picked up where we left off, broke it down and simplified tasks so it was easier to approach. I was sometimes overwhelmed with the longitude of some modules, but Douwlene was always light, encouraging and supportive in helping me see things through to completion!” Regina said.
Regina’s tenacity and determination paid off, and within twelve months, she successfully completed her TAE.
During her studies, Regina had been looking for job roles that would allow her to utilize her new qualification and help make a difference in others’ lives.
Regina said that her training paid off straight away. “I was reading all about this amazing job opportunity and I couldn’t believe when I saw this job listed the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as a required qualification. I applied immediately,” she said.
Within a month of completing her studies, Regina began her new role in a local high school where she delivers job ready training to students. “I loved being a nurse because I love helping others. In my new role, I am still helping others but in a new and exciting way. I can have a real impact on these kids, helping them think about what kind of career they might like to pursue. And importantly, showing them that career changes are possible at any age.”
